I am originally from Monterrey, Mexico and my commitment to my field has taken me from my hometown to Boston, Massachusetts for my undergraduate study to now Zurich, Switzerland for my graduate degree.
I started off my career in the startup world, as a founding electronics engineer for a wearable health tech company. With the founding team, we made it to Y-Combinator in 2018 (a superb way to finish off my high school years). I formally exited in 2019 to focus on university.
I then focused on my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering at MIT. During my time in Boston I was also a leader in MIT Driverless, MIT Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), a coxswain for the Varsity Lightweight Crew Team and as a Lecture Series Coordinator and Treasurer for my fraternity. This of course in addition to balancing a full undergraduate (and sometimes graduate!) course load, a minor in Statistics and Data Science, and undergraduate research.
For the last years, I have been living in Zurich, Switzerland pursuing a Master's Degree in Robotics, Systems and Control at the ETH Zürich. While here, I have worked with startups and research labs, and honing my ideas on how I want to personally contribute to robotics. For me it is important to have an impact in a field that I care and to steer this impact towards a meaningful and fulfilling way.
To be frank, I have also worked on getting a sustainable mental footing and growing as a person. Adapting to life in Zürich was quite the culture shock! Mental health cannot be overlooked after moving so frequently.
Over all my formative years, I have held internships at Sikorsky, Blue Origin, ANYbotics, NASA JPL, research projects at MIT and ETH, worked full time out of my Bachelor's at Aurora Flight Sciences, and traveled to teach robotics in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
